THE HEXAGON SERIES

Artist Statement

From a young age, I was captivated by the elegance and symmetry of the hexagon, a shape that resonated deeply with its balance and harmony, mirroring the sacred and divine.
My childhood fascination with the intricate structures of beehives and the delicate patterns of snowflakes first drew me to this perfect form.

Throughout history, the hexagon has symbolised the six days of creation in Christianity, reflecting divine perfection and the completion of the cosmos. It is used in Eastern religions in mandalas to foster meditation, embodying cosmic order and balance, and prominently featured in Islamic architecture, representing spiritual unity in the intricate designs of mosques.

The architectural strength of the hexagon influences modern design, from the nuts and bolts that hold structures together to the grand facades of buildings that challenge our skies, embodying a blend of durability and aesthetic harmony.

"The Hexagon Series" pays homage to the geometric perfection of this shape, contrasting the precision of the hexagon with the fluid chaos of pouring acrylic. This interplay of control and spontaneity reflects the dynamic forces of the universe and the spiritual resonance of this ancient shape.
In each unique art piece I have created, my hope is for a celebration of the interconnectedness of the spiritual and physical realms. I hope that my hexagon art invites you to find harmony and balance within the chaos of life.
